Jesus should not be first in your life.

Jesus didn’t come to assist or even revolutionize our spiritual life, he came to be our spiritual life. We didn’t find Jesus so we could prioritize Him, we found Jesus so we could lose ourself. The moment we find ourself turning Christ into a thing of importance instead of complete surrender is the same moment we cheapen His message of discipleship.

“Whoever wishes to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Whoever does not hate his own life cannot be my disciple.” – Jesus (Luke 9:24; 14: 27)

Jesus didn’t ask for our life so he could improve it, He asked for our life so He could give us His. Christ is not a good thing out of many, He is the thing. “Christ, who is our life.” Colossians 3:4.

“Immaturity considers the Lord Jesus a helper. Maturity knows Him to be life itself.” – Miles J. Stanford

Jesus never wanted a place of prominence in your life. Jesus didn’t come to be first in your life, He came to take it. Jesus is not the most important part of life, for He is nothing short of life itself.

Good to hear positive reactions, I truly believe this is foundational, if not the Christian Life itself.

Good word mate, sometimes we limit the extent we allow Jesus to control, all while still being ‘positive’, ‘Christian’, and ‘good’. We just water it down that little bit that takes away it’s true edge
